Prior to founding Surface, Mary Ellen Putignano was a design leader at Crate and Barrel for 13 years working within both the brand graphics and product development departments.
As the first design hire, she established the brand graphics department along with VP Creative Director, Alessandro Franchini, and was instrumental in helping to build this highly successful home brand, and it’s sister brand, CB2.
